Our goal is to provide a loving, fun, safe environment for children to have open-ended play with developmentally appropriate curriculum enriched with art, music, literacy, STEM, fine motor, gross motor, and outdoor exploration. And, to provide a place where children can play and practice how they move in the world and interact with others safely. Like a pod of whales, caring for each other and creating a nurturing community.

Our Program
POD Playschool is a small, play-based preschool for children ages 2–5 that focuses on creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment. Through child-led activities, both indoors and outdoors, children explore areas like art, science, literacy, math, and dramatic play while developing social-emotional skills. The flexible, school-readiness curriculum encourages curiosity, creativity, and hands-on learning, helping children build skills such as counting, pattern recognition, and early literacy through play. Led by teachers Tami Aidlin and Jen Hoglund, the program emphasizes community, kindness, and learning through exploration.
Our school year runs on a ten-month calendar from September into June, following the Seattle School District Calendar.
